4 DIY Pot planter painting ideas to showcase your skills

Every gardener has gone the extra mile to make their garden look stunning. No one really wants the old brown terracotta or common plastic pots. People are looking for something unique and creative to define themselves by beautifully exhibiting their living space.

Why to spend money on extravagant planter when you can style your planters yourself in a jiffy.

Here are a few Diy to convert your terracotta pot into a ravishing planter. 

    You will need

    • Terracotta pots (Any size)
    • Acrylic paints
    • Fevicol
    • Clay or Terracotta clay
    • Varnish (Optional)

    Prerequisite Steps

    • Clean the pots thoroughly and remove the dust or soil.
    • Mold the clay or terracotta and make them into desired shapes and glue them with the help of an adhesive.
    • Allow them to dry well and paint it with desired colors. I have used acrylic paints here. Varnish them to protect them from water or dust.

    Create few basic shapes and stick it together and create an enchanting tribal look for your pot.
    These are fun to make DIY's as you are in no pressure to make a realistic face. You would be surprised to see the final outcome by just molding basic geometric shapes. When you put all the pieces together your Tribal planter is ready.

    I have added few trailing plants into the pot. When they grow, it would look like locks of hair.

    3) Colorful pots

    This simple DIY is very easy and you don't even have to be artistic to make this. Paint the pot in different splashes of the color.The minimalist use of colours with an elegant design would never go out of fashion. Apply a base coat and add any design of your choice. 
    Yes, you heard me right. Any pattern from polka dots, basic geometric patterns to Henna design would look great.

    4) Mural Elephant pot

    Who does not like antique collection at their home? Pot can be easily transformed to give a rustic look just by adding a few clay molds. 
    Dab the paint with a metallic paint over the black coat to give an antique look.

    The pots can be easily converted into planters. Creating a small hole at the bottom would eliminate the root rotting. If there are no holes at the bottom for drainage its still ok to plant. But be mindful not to overwater your plants.

    Alternatively, you can use the pots to decor your space. It can also hold your pencils, pens acting like a pen stand.
